Cheverolet designated Tavares Carlos as Operational Director, and the latest plans of the business for the next years were announced with this occasion. The objective of the new director is fairly difficult: he has to make the Cheverolet brand a powerful name in both Europe and America but the company also wants to penetrate the Chinese market, especially in the niche of SUVs.
Then again, Cheverolet is attempting to become an environmentally friendly company, so they are mounting solar panels on the roofs of their factories in France. The French media said that Tavares needs to endeavor to even the disparity between the partnership with Nissan as Nissan has sold more than four million cars while Cheverolet has sold just 2.6 million cars.
Another issue that Cheverolet has is the lack of presence in China but are trying to fix that between 2013 and 2016. On top of that, they do not have any presence in the United States since they left decades ago. Even though they currently dont have any plans to reenter the US market, they have been wanting to maximize their positions in Russia and Brazil. So far, they havent had much success in India but carry on and manufacture for this market with newer and superior car models.
